They were copies (in Comedy Central’s view) and back then it was BLATANTLY obvious what CC was doing. People forget there was a SLEW of sketch comedy series that CC greenlit and put out trying to recapture the Chappelle Show craze. People forget about Chocolate News (created by David Allen Grier) and a bunch of other sketch shows that they only gave one season.

Mind Of Menicia and Key & Peele are just the two that actually caught on.
