I have no major problem with Rapsody, her album was good. But her verse here is an example of why she'll never blow up, no matter how much time/money is put into it. From a technical perspective her verse is great. She always has a lot of metaphors/similies/double entredes/etc in big feature verses. But the verse is completely unremarkable and not noteworthy. Then Black Thought comes in on his second verse and kills it with a pretty straight forward, "simple" verse. Sometimes you just gotta talk slick, talk shyt, and RAP. A lot of these rappity rap dudes/women are so focused on technical shyt that by the time the verse is over you're just like eh...ok. Hov is great in terms of throwing in a bit of technical shyt on top of an avalanche of slick, memorable shyt. Nas will hit you with a dope metaphor here or there but is mainly going to focus on perfect delivery and dope lines. Recently on Pusha's album...the entire thing is not some technical masterpiece, most of it is just slick shyt with a few "aaaha" lines in there.
She just comes off as someone who is incapable of having fun, and she rarely outright FLOWS on a track.
