I’m surprised this isn’t getting more love on here… album is fire from front to back. It’s early, but I might prefer it to Cheat Codes based off the mixing alone. Black Thought has to have one of the best batting averages verse-for-verse in hip hop.

The Weather :mjcry:

Not a bar wasted - perfect storytelling/reminiscing track. The tempo switches throughout :ohlawd:

Such a great album. Hope it gets the respect it deserves.

Might be AOTY for me so far with Larry June & Alchemist at # 2.

It's really good. Cheat code just hit different in the car and headphones. i loved the production on that album. I listened to this in the car, feel like I need to listen again with headphones to appreciate the production more.

Thought killing it of course and I like tye calmer flow.

I saw someone else post that not a bar was wasted on this...and they were absolutely right about that.

Thought almost sounds like he's rapping at his peak, these days. The production on this is perfect for him, and he really sounds like he's in his zone. I prefer this over Cheat Codes. I love Danger Mouse's previous work and have forever, but something felt kinda off with his tracks for Thought on that project. On this one, he sounds like he's found the perfect pocket to do what he does best in, with EMA.

Way more people should be speaking about this joint. This is the kind of Hip Hop that should be highlighted.

Preordered the Vinyl from Turntable Lab a couple of months ago and totally forgot about it until I got it last week. Another dope album from Thought.

This is buttery smooth so far. I think I prefer the Danger Mouse production on Cheat Codes (and in general) but this is tough. The bars are there as always.

+1 on BT getting better somehow

aiight this my album of the year. I've listened to this A LOT and it's incredible to me. A lot of it is so smooth and Playa. The production is lush and it's nice to see Thought in that smooth lane. The hooks on point...its BT so the lyrics are crazy.

For something to top this in 2023 for me....it'll have to be classic level.

If you listened to HDIGH by Dave East, that production by Mike and Keys was great. Even though East did a great job if you replace him with Thought on there you got a sure fire classic on your hands. Just seemed that production was tailor made for BT. This and Cheat Codes were fire but this isn’t the best he can do.

Got to really sit down with this....Black Thought is on a helluva run :wow:

Protocol might be song of the year for me :blessed:

Not sure if I like it better than Cheat Codes but it's a great album in it's own right.
