Nobody with a brain thinks it will increase black wealth. Black people take on more debt because of less capital and thus have higher loan averages at every level. It is just another thing black people have to deal with and it would be a great benefit to black borrowers if it was not a thing. It reinforces the initial inequality and limits the gains black people get from higher education. The average black graduate of a 4 year student circa 2019 had like 53,000 in debt.

No. Our issues are structural.


Remember that black families were intact immediately after reconstruction in 1870s and even 100yrs later prior-to-the 1970s. Despite all that, we were all still at the bottom of every positive economic metric and at the top of each negative one. This factor is unchanged in 2021.


An by structural issues, you can think of it literally. The little things like personal responsibility, family planning, traditional family roles, etc are equivalent to rearranging the deck chairs on a sinking ship with a hole on its side. It will change the order of who drowns first, but it doesn't alleviate our fate.


Even worse than that, is that We gotta deal with other intact ships perpetually blowing new holes into our black ship's hull. And circumstances stay this way until we get to the source of our issues.
