Backstory?

Attorney John Burris released a video showing the shooting of Ernest Duenez Jr. by Manteca PD Officer John Moody on December 12, a day after the San Joaquin District Attorney's Office cleared Moody of any wrongdoing in the June 2011 incident.

According to the District Attorney's report, Duenez, who was being sought for a parole violation and anearlier domestic disturbance call, brandished a knife as he exited a truck despite orders not to move. Moody fired 13 rounds in 4.2 seconds, striking Duenez several times. Duenez's wife can be seen coming out of the house and screaming after her husband is shot.

Burris believes that Duenez, who was caught in the truck's seatbelt, was not holding any weapons or moving aggressively. He has asked the U.S. Justice Department to look into the case and to file murder charges against Moody.

I believe that many non-blacks - whites, Asians, Latinos - who'd otherwise be reluctant to assist black people because of our ratchet culture would eventually come to our side after to begin to observe how we have rejected that culture. I'm an optimist and a racial realist, a black man who no longer feels it is entirely upon the white man's shoulders to end racism. Racism is becoming a system of self fulfilled prophecies, fueled in no small part by our own people and their refusal love themselves.

I disagree...there's quite a few things that may have happened prior to his punching her. For all we know she could have brandished a weapon, such as a gun or a knife that could have ended his life, and therefore he may have had to completely put her out of commission to dislodge any possibility that should would be able to use it or have access to it. Again, admittedly that's pure speculation on my part.

BUT something tells me that he didn't just start whooping her ass for a unjustified reason, knowing that there were HUNDREDS of people witnessing his actions. I mean seriously, what cop in his right mind (assuming he doesn't have mental problems) would conduct police brutality in the middle of a highway in front of 100s of potential witnesses?

In my personal opinion...he has to have a good reason...otherwise, what he did was possibly committ 1st degree or 2nd degree assault...
