dap fishing nikkaz is the worst.
She got a fukked up name because it's a fukked up name . Hermeisha
You can't just a eisha to everything.
Its my opinion and the general consensus so fukk off with that babble.
This isn't new, there have been multiple articles on this before. And yet people think Tyrone is unemployed or under-employed because he didn't "try" hard enough. Trying to get an interview with a name like "De'Vonte" or "Tae'Sean" is a challenge. I've seen first hand how those dudes resumes get critiqued just a little harder than Kyle and Steven's resumes.
I can only help on the panels I'm on though....who even knows how many times a good black candidate got passed up for having a 'ghetto' name when I wasn't on the panel.
A lot of dudes and women actually real upset these days with their parents for giving them some of these names because they aren't getting call-backs for stuff they should for sure qualify for - at least an interview or phone interview but nothing. Even if you don't check the 'black box' on an application, if your name is a dead giveaway, that's basically the same thing.
most names are NOT MADE UP, most names have an actual meaning attached to them but yall wouldn't know because you guys don't speak any other language besides english
E.g.
Michael (hebrew) - who is like god
Kassandra (greek) - killer of men
I know, in fact the arabic version of Michael will leave you going .That ain’t even how Michael is spelt nor pronounced in its original form bro. That’s the European version of it that they made up. I bet if it was spelt the way it was intended to be spelt in English form it would still be considered ghetto. Anything with a apostrophe in it is ghetto in their eyes.
There's nothing wrong with naming your kid a traditional black name like Keisha, Aaliyah, Ashanti, Ebony, Jamal, Tyrone, Jermaine,Malk, Hakeem or anything like that. But when you start making things up and name your kid something like Cadillisa that's when it's a problem. And I have to ask where are all these names coming from when I was growing up bin the 90's and 2000's most Black people seemed to have traditional names, I mean yeah every once in a while you had someone with a name like Ladria or Shavonna or something like that, but most people had names like Michael, Kevin, Brianna, Vanessa and other traditional names. Now whenever I turn around there's someone with a name like Quankresha or something of that nature.
What names are respectable to you?![]()
Exactly. This is why I encourage people to put either white on their job applications or leave the race option blank.
Daughter Brianna, I'm gone name my son Billiam
shyt comes from my nickname (Billz) and my nikka Lito randomly starting to call me that shyt, I think it's kinda dope.
