Quiet as kept, some of our grandmas told the younger women to follow their dreams not because they're anti family or kids, but because they missed out on their dreams. A lot of people romanticize what they consider the golden age where women were regulated to being homemakers (ignoring the racism coded in this romanticization) , but a lot of them were mentally ill, drunk or were popping pills to survive. From their testimonies what made them happy was having meaningful work.

She was never going to be an actress with a worthwhile career. And honestly, she has to check her ego.
