I'm sick of the constant disrespect of black icons from people who have accomplished absolutely nothing.
“Black” Woman says Zora Neale Hurston was a trash author. Social media puts foot in ass.

Zora Neale Hurston got real life backlash for the dialogue in Their Eyes Were Watching God because she wanted to make the conversations realistic to the way black people actually talked in those particular settings at those particular times. Richard Wright absolutely DETESTED the book and openly criticized Hurston for basically making black people look bad.
Its funny because back in those days c00nery was considered anything that could be seen as ignorant or setting the black race to look foolish. Whereas nowadays buffoonery is openly embraced by many within our communities…
Having said that Zora Neale Hurston was 100% for the people and dedicated her life to preserving black stories and culture. She was a victim of a time period of INTENSE correction when it came to changing and shaping how the world viewed black Americans. She couldn’t really “tell it like it was” because even our truths were used as fuel for our subjugation

most people in the "dIAsPoria" have as much depth as everybody else who isn't black american aka only knows about Hip Hop, tv shows, sports, etc and thinks thats 'Black culture"

She doesn't have the cache to criticize Zora Neale Hurston's work nor does she properly understand the context nor time period of her works. You can make a better argument she was ahead of her time.
