Good stuff but numbers are misleading in terms of progress and success:
1) Enrollment does not equal graduation. What percent of those that enrolled graduated (among all subgroups)
2) 9.7% out of 100 is much less than 7.1% of 500 for example. The population difference is out of people's control, but it still does effect job market shares and campus demographics
The real positive news is that from 2000 to 2010, degrees
awarded to African Americans increased by several percentage points in all levels of higher education.
