Movie theaters do not make money anymore, it's a dying media, which is why AMC was sold to the chinese
Big budget movies have been flopping left and right
China is the biggest movie market in the world right now, which is why the could afford to buy the AMC theaters
Most money from hollywood movies comes from chinese investors, so why do you need hollywood producers when you can go straight to the source
the digital age enables filmmaker to produce and distribute their own products rather easily, so why whore yourself out to the gate keepers of an obsolete business model
There are no more movie stars who's very presence can sell a film
Nobody cares about the Oscas, the show is stale, and the ratings have been going down for years now
also all the movies that came out this year were trash, so not only from a business aspect but from an art aspect hollywood is hanging on by a thread

This is so very true! For Blacks, winning an Oscar is a gift and a curse. For whites, it propels their career.

Black men have it a little easier. Our best shots historically are to either:
- be strong personalities in a Supporting Actor role
- write/perform the "Best Original Song".
But Jamie Foxx changed the game when he opened up the biopic lane; that's what everybody seems to try now.
I feel like we prefer that because we hardly get a respectable role in the fiction movies...
Look at what makes money in hollywood now, nothing but disney which is marvel and star wars, huge brands decades old

They trying to make Chris Pratt a movie star, but he's only successful in franchise films you can have anybody play the role in because they brand sells
just like they did the thor guy, outside of thor all his shyt flopped
will smith came out the gate box office, tom cruise came out the gate box office, and they are literally still the only two movie stars in the game and they old as fukk
filmmakers don't never needed hollywood in the first place, but want to be associated with that scene and those people
if you want to make money of film you don't need him
