To the op, if your friend is able to save that much he better not waste it on a house in the Bay Area where every respectable home is over 1.5 million. Cali is big. Tell him to find a place an hour or two outside the Bay Area. That’s if of course he wishes to be able to pay it off soon.

The plan is to buy a house in the bay area inland already, Its close to impossible to get anywhere near oakland or SF already
Were looking places between sac or outside Stockton

In comparison to black men. Not sure why you couldn’t pick that up from OP’s post.

It's already very well documented that the black women are the most educated

What kind of fentanyl-laced crack are you smoking to believe that black women are the most educated in America? More educated that black men, sure. More educated that whites and asians of both genders? Absolutely not. You've been had. Believe media narratives, brehs...

No they don't, that graphic isn't even real, and its says 2010-2014
Also in 2014 the National Center For Educations were the first report Black women has the most college enrollments out of any demographic in the country lmao
its 2020, black women are the most educated demographic in the country right now

You really think more black women are in college than whites and Asians as a whole?

that don’t even make sense

also that chart isn’t outdated

2010-2014 are very relevant

I went gsu a very black school. They’re more Asians and cacs there than black women

That doesn't make sense. Do you not understand how the English language works?
Most is a superlative used when you are trying to say something is the highest degree of all (which will 99% of the time encompass more than two things).

"Most educated" means more educated that all race and gender combinations. It can't be interpreted to mean more than black men unless you are a complete idiot. :unimpressed:

looking at this from a perspective of black woman and black man is shallow and the wrong way to look at it.

a black family with college degree earns twice as much as one without a college degree.

a black family with college degree has 3 times the net worth of one without.

the problem of why college by itself doesn't close the wealth gap with whites is very complex. white families start off with a lower debt to income ratio. they also start off with more wealth, less dependency on loans, ability to handle a major financial issue like car problems or medical issues. this gets passed down and compounds itself generation after generation.

another challenge is as income increases so does our spending. sometimes we can't help but to buy more shyt and keep up with the joneses. this makes it harder for black families to build wealth because we often spend more of our income and save less. if we could delay our spending and be more frugal, we can make better progress closing the gap. for example, look at what happened when people got stimulus checks...

all that said, i agree black families should diversify career/income opportunities. college isn't for everyone.

This is why people who do not know how to read stats shouldn't even try. Just unknowingly spreading misinformation...Do you know the difference between two statements?

"Greatest number of college enrollments"
"Greatest increase in college enrollments"

???

I get what you're saying but this is a wrong conclusion. Education is an absolutely strong force that can help close the wealth gap. It's obviously not the only way but a primary one

Cutting discounts for your buddy is not gonna create some mass movement of economic prosperity like education can.

You have to understand what kind of education are they getting. What degrees? How much debt?

Education in a meritocracy is great, but in America, it’s just a tool to maintain class status for the most part..... I know a gang of White boys with no degrees making 6 figures just for simply being liked by the right people
