Imma need you to go look at the list of companies making real profit off Android. I don't think Android would have done anything to save BB was that ship started sinking. The were too slow to see the change and crush that original iPhone. Truth be told, Android nor iOS had nothing on WebOS and BB10 as a operating system; anytime you swipe that card to close or change apps, think about that Pre.
But on the real, this shows how much apps dictate the mobile industry. I am going to cop a Passport SE when that fire sale hits..
