I don't think Blackpink is popular enough in the US to get the superbowl spot. Their highest charting song on Billboard is a Selena Gomez feature that peaked at #13.

BTS is tricky because they had multiple songs that reached #1 but unsure if the general public cares for the songs much. Also, they had to take a long break due to mandatory military service, so those songs are 5 years old and unsure if they're still viewed positively. I think if their album that's releasing this year performs well, then there's a chance they'll get to perform at the superbowl. They have to make sure their songs on this upcoming album is a hit

Kpop demon hunter most likely doesn't get considered because their song is tied to a film and the sequel is like 3-5 years from now. Their only chance is if the group actually becomes a thing and if they replicate the success

Honestly, I don't really see it happening with a kpop group headlining the next superbowl. Plus, unsure if there's that much growth for the NFL in the Asia region. Plus, the superbowl would be airing at around 8am there, so they might not view it as worth it. I think they're most likely going to go with somebody like Bieber or a female musician.

I think Katseye would be more tolerable to American audiences
They're too new of a group and don't have enough of a discography yet, but in the future, there's for sure potential. Plus they need to stay away from the "Gnarly" type songs and aim for more songs like Gabriela.

Agreed. BTS and Blackpink do have hits, but the general public at large wouldn't know them since Kpop is still incredibly niche. BTS are getting ready to drop their new album and it's expected to make a huge impact the moment they drop a new song, so we'll have to see what comes next. But they'd likely be touring well into 2027 so the timeline wouldn't line up. Blackpink has a new one on the way too and they're currently touring, but I could see their label pausing a tour for the Super Bowl if that ended up being a realistic possibility.

Twice might be the better choice, because they've consistently released music, tour all the time, and they have songs attached to Kpop Demon Hunters.

But yeah again, I don't think a kpop group is realistically performing for the Super Bowl anytime soon, but who can say what the climate may look like in 3-5 years?

I've said it the last couple days since the SB, I think they'll go K-Pop next year. But not 1 or 2 acts, but "K-Pop: the industry"

Like you'll see the two groups mentioned in the OP, but let's not act like people wasn't acting stupid to Gangnam style when it came out.

Kpop is the most boring, inauthentic, terrible music I've ever heard.

It's just a bunch of corny ass, pale koreans imitating Black music and dances with auto tune cause they can't sing.
