Juhabach gave him powers that substituted as his bankai. That's why he looked like Juha and rukia's brother called his banks I weird when they fought on the hill

exactly you can write a story with certain plot points planned out but fill in the blanks between them. i'm pretty sure if he pre-wrote this in it's entirety the quality would be way more even. its like LOST i don't doubt that some of it was written out but the majority of it they made up on the fly.
