To being one of the most notable figures in sports journalism and entertainment. Just a couple years ago they still weren’t anywhere near as well known and popular as they are now

Seeing them come from that to poaching real journalist from respectable outlets to now being a multimedia force has been crazy.

Athletic is on top right now. They got the best journalists and gives them the freedom to write stories about topics that would never see light on ESPN. I just don’t know how sustainable it is without ad revenue. The subscriptions are so fukking cheap.

I remember in 2011-13, they legit had like racist bertstein (or whatever the fukk its called) twitter fingers nikkas writing D tier at best analyses for em. They cleaned it up something serious around 2014ish and once they got their app going, it was over.
