There's a lot of different genres within anime and manga. I know it's animated and foreign so it seems nerdy or childish to the people who write it off but I'm sure there are stories out there any of them could enjoy. There are sports animes/mangas that helped anime nerds understand and become fans of the sport they were about. There are a lot of innovative art and stories that can be enjoyed.
