The Truth
Nobody in here was worried about a stan war between the lowest common denominator of cinema today until you came in like you always do trying to start some nonsense. You think you're being funny or clever but you're just incredibly annoying. And honestly, the worst part about it is that someone will call you out on this behavior, and then you'll try to turn it around on some "b-b-but what about these other movies? don't yall care about them? :hubie: why ya'll worried about me/marvel? :mjcry:"

Sincerely, shut the fukk up man. You're not funny, you're not clever, and you're damn near reaching levels of becoming a blight on the forum. I don't care how much of "MarvelGang" co-signs your posts. This shyt right here is a microcosm of why comic book movies are worst genre in film right now.
It’s hilarious because I knew who you were talking about before I even read his name:mjlol:

That’s fair as far as it being all cgi. Im with you there. But I just don’t believe a previous gen is in awe with something they didn’t grow up with. Yeah there are probably a few of them but it doesn’t hit the same. Like with hip hop, I’m sure there are a handful of fans who love the 90s shyt even if they weren’t alive during that era. But for the majority? They’re going to rock with the shyt that’s of their time. I respect the shyt kurtis blow did and put it in context but I’m not rushing home to listen to the breaks.

So with film, the majority of kids in their 20s now will probably be cool with the trends they know. And even then you don’t have to be in your 20s. I showed the thing to a friend of mine and she said it looked cheesy. Showed her the prequel from 2011 which is all cgi and she had no issue with it. She’s used to the latter and not the former and doesn’t have any warm tingly feelings for the former.
I think we all evolve bro. Sometimes evolving is appreciating older films. Older styles and what not. Or just wanting better movies, less explosions, more mythology, better acting etc

A bad movie is a bad movie.

Its about the bottom line but just because your homegirl had no problem with The Thing prequel doesn't really prove anything, maybe she just had shytty taste lol no offense.

Hell I was talking to dudes in a different thread that don't like Boyz in the hood and they from that era. So I guess it's:manny:

No I mentioned her to say she cg didn’t bother her. The movie as a whole didn’t work for her but it wasn’t because of that.

I just think different generations have their own definitions of what’s good and what’s bad and what works and what doesn’t. I have mine. But I’m open to someone else having their own. So I can go back and listen to something old or watch it and have an appreciation for it. But if someone my age doesn’t I get it. And if someone 10 years younger than me doesn’t, I definitely get it. They don’t have the context

The studios have got to figure out the comedy genre though. There is no excuse for it to be this bad. These movies usually cost 12-30 million and can work. Are any of you interested in Stuber or My Spy? I like Batista too, but just NO dude.

I want to see Stuber. Also wanted to see Booksmart but couldn't make time for it and that's on me.

I don't watch "comedy" movies.

TV is where comedy is. Whatever brand of comedy you like, you can find 7 shows that hit that mark over any movie that's dropped in the last damn near 7-10 years.

Yeah that’s the problem. The best comedy writers right now are on tv cause they want more control

A few podcasts today asking if this is the worst movie summer ever :lolbron:

Was asking the same thing 3 years ago, as Scott mendleson mentioned. Also, props on posting that article, homie. See, that’s helpful. Unlike you telling me to buy movies you know damn well I already own
