When you make a franchise almost yearly you start running it into the ground and dont give the games enough space to evolve because youre too busy just pushing another out the door to step back and revamp.

Don't even feign ignorance and act like earlier eras are even somewhat similar to this new era. Back in those days just some new environments, a new story and new characters was enough to warrant a sequel.

Now you have these engines and graphics, when the game feels like it's the exact same thing it gets very stale. Other than AC4 it felt like all the newer AC games were copy/paste

Im not sure what point youre trying to make. Guitar hero "dominated" once too,until it got driven into the ground with too many releases.


Funny what happened to square after that though. They pretty much fell off a cliff. Almost like people got sick of their formula and they were left with their dikk in their hand because they didnt bother to evolve.

It only turns stale if the bosses are trash and they rehash enemies and stop being creative. Rock it till the wheels fall off.
