Agreed......most of his projects have been poorly mixed/mastered......this EP is no different, and thats ashame because its really good, however the quality detracts from what it or any of his other projects could have been IMO

breh....this couldnt be further from the truth. you CLEARLY havent been checing for blu like that to say that ... as a blu stan, i promise he is still putting out quality material
and this was a dope EP.... new album Good2BeHome coming soon...

I will keep it real with you, I was a big Blu fan when he dropped that Exile tape. shyt, I smoked weed that whole summer to that tape and had the pearly gates remix song as well, the first track on that album was great. I went to the motherfukkin' store and bought no York and flat out was disappointed at best it was a 2/5 album and I currently do not have any tracks from the album on my computer as well as can't even remember one song.

About a year ago, I felt maybe I was being harsh and gave an ep he put out about faith and life essentially out I think it was called "a man" or something like that. It was similar to his previous album, but the words no longer resonated with me, it's like I matured and he either stayed the same or took another path that I didn't and is unable to create a compelling narrative to attract me to listening to an album about it.

The last draw was seeing him drunk stumble through old songs and forget words to his new songs about a year ago the venue in SF that used to be Popscene and was a pizza parlor down there before that. The crowd booed him and Blu, looked aged, burnt out and very Charles Hamilton esque. I have simply given up on him from recording in people's closest to simply not putting out projects that blend together well, Blu is another Jay Electronica, who other people cared more about their career than they did.

NoYork was for the L.A. underground, it might be hard to fully get that lp if you dont follow the dibiases and flylos
A Man was him connecting to his spiritual side, i feel Blu on that joint....
i guess he's evolved too much for some people... even tho he has some of the same below the heavens content today, but he keeps ish dope at the end of the day imo

As much praise as Kanye will inevitably get for Yeezus in the years to come, Blu took a far biggest risk and jumped much further into that realm with NoYork. The record wasnt perfect, but Blu has yet to really do the same thing twice. I was worried about the mixes for his last few projects but Give Me Flowers had some of the best mixing Ive heard in a long time for a rap record
