no one has an issue with the Fire Department, EMS, or the local Mailman how dare cops tie their bullshyt to people who actually protect and serve.

This is one of those laws, that white people will feel are legit and good natured because who wouldn't want to protect civil servants. Yet not see the open door policy it creates on minorities. Cops already harass you and now doing something like punching back when being unfairly detained or roughed up can be considered a hate crime. Brothers are going to do alot of years off of this. It's racist but so undercover you can't speak on it.

Nah it's a slippery slope. Next thing you know they will say calling police pigs,the beast,one time,12,5-0,killer cops the same as racial slurs. Then laws will be passed to ban protest after a cop is not charged by a grad jury killing someone for "public safety reasons," to prevent riots.

I know exactly the reason they passed this bill in Louisiana. They want to protect these officers so badly when that martial law kick in they gonna be getting them nightsticks once they step outta line.

Also this bill should be struck down for one being a law enforcement officer is not being born a different race protected under statute of constitutional law, they chose to be cops and leos, You already have enough protection due to the courts and the DA's and police unions protecting you. you cannot take a law that primarily protects citizens that are of a different race and or sex and apply it to you... that shyt makes no sense.

A cop is a CIVILIAN on PATROL... nothing more, nothing less... If a cop unfairly targets me in louisianna for being black and it's caught on tape and i can prove it within a court of my peers will these laws apply to me where I can countersue for a hate crime?! will this law supercede others?!?

I hope this law gets tossed out of the surpreme court.
