I remember during the Verzuz debates on here, some posters claimed that ESOM would win a round against NY State Of Mind.

I mean....ESOM is a cute pop hit and all but are you kidding me? :mjlol:

Some of his best work mixed with some of his worst. Its STILL head and shoulders better than both Kingdom Come and Magna Carta Holy Fail.

1). What We Talkin About
2). Thank You
3). D.O.A.
4). Run This Town
5). Empire State of Mind
6). Real As It Gets
7). On To The Next One

Thats a STRONG sequencing of heat rocks. If he would have kept up the momentum we’re genuinely looking at a new age classic. shyt starts going down hill with Off That, rebounds with Star is Born, Venus VS Mars is aight. Already Home is…aight but didn’t age well in my opinion. Hate is one of the WORST Jay-Z songs of all time. Its astounding that it made the final tracklisting. Reminder is underwhelming and probably worse, unnecessary. So Ambitious and Young Forever are decent closers but they can’t completely wash the disgusting taste that Hate & Reminder leave you with.

Its a strong 3.5 Mic album in my opinion, closer to 3.75 Mics. Not a disaster, not a classic.

Agree on MCHG.

Not sure I'd say it's better than Kingdom Come though. I feel Kingdom Come holds up slightly better as a whole album despite its misses and "Show Me What You Got" being a worse lead single than ESOM.

BP3 feels more aimless overall whereas you can at least see Jay's vision for KC.

Very weird album. The highs were good. But man the lows was ass, like legit some of the worst songs he recorded. Beat selection was weird as well. Just Blaze not having production on there was a bad call. Timbo even admitted he was on the drugs at the time putting bullshyt on there

Off that :comeon:
Venus Vs Mars :scust:

Hate :what:
Reminder :mjlol:(the just remix is fire, again the production is ass)

The album was overall fairly garbage but there were at least 6 tracks I really messed with. Off the top of my head Real As It Gets, the intro, Already Home, Empire State Of Mind (though it got over played like crazy and I’ll never listen to it again), and that Pharrell track near the end. The JCole and Drake tracks were so wack but I remember people hyping them up in real time. Venus Vs Mars was a dumpster as well. On To The Next One  :hhh:

I listened to both recently and MCHG had some ok joints on there.

It still an ass album also the production is better than BP3 to me.

MCHG is one of the WORST albums by a GOAT level rapper ever released for public consumption.

Only ONE good song on the entire album. SomeWhereInAmerica. That IT.

The hate for this album was overblown when it came out!
