I think this might get 30 mil this weekend. Im about to see the Whale (I'm on that this time of the year. but I probably see this tommorrow). But I'm seeing alot Black people going in the theater to watch it today. Alot times I can tell something is a hit depending on Black audiences.

I agree with this. But it also leaves them room to get more ridiculous for a possible sequel.

I watched Jeremy Jahns' review and he said it felt like it was a Rated R movie that was edited to PG-13. The writer says that the script was way gorier and the unrated version is on the books.

A sequel has multiple possibilities.

The Elise thing is just to show that Megan is out in the wild now. And she knows what Kurt did. So if he sent those plans to another company, she knows where to go for a new body, and they can do a Child's Play type franchise. Or they can go the route that Gemma made a monster with no restrictions placed on it, and Megan starts replicating/reproducing rogue AI constructs. People wake up and it's like Maximum Overdrive with AI taking over self driving cars, causing havoc on the net, and brings all of modern society to a standstill to a Planet of the Apes type future.

You know, truth be told, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to put together and release the R version of the film in limited release in theaters. I think there’s some additional dollars to be made there, instead of just going straight to DVD or stream with it

If Blumhouse works quickly, They can have a sequel out by 2025. I remember when Happy Death Day came out in 2017 and the next year going to see Halloween 18 and hitting the when I saw the preview for HDD2U. Granted, I don’t think the sequel for HDD did all that well compared to the first.

My rating for M3gan is a 9/10. A very good movie. The only gripe I have is that I wish Blumhouse would have stuck with the original R rating like intended. Hopefully Blumhouse will release the original cut on DVD and Blu-ray in the future so we can see the gore and gnarly kills in all of its glory.

I mean, Its insane right? Lol.

I don't think it necessarily needed to be gorier, but I agree in that it needed a specific primary tone. If that was gore,so be it, but they also could've went the campy route, or creepy, or suspense, or all heart...crazy stalker vibe was the way I was anticipating. Hopefully, the sequel strays more into one direction. I'll check out the unrated though.
