Bo Ryan basketball is sketch.

Ive been questioning this dude since I was in 8th grade. His coaching style NEVER pays off. At best he can transform mediocre basketball teams into pretenders. A Bo Ryan coached team is like a house of cards
hes likeable... assembles teams with alot of heart... but cant get it done

Wisconsin is basically Michigan if you got rid of all of their height, length and athleticism

The new handcheck rules and emphasize on scoring pretty much killed his grab + hold defensive philosophy he use to rely on

Also hard to convince Black athletes freeze their asses off in Wisconsin

Maybe... idk about that. Wisco teams that get hyped up are almost always overrated. I just think Bo Ryan has an overly refined vision for his team.

But yeah... hes working with limited talent. Especially since Marquette picks up the good Milwaukee recruits.

Never understood why Marquette got the better recruits when Wisconsin is a better school and plays in a better conference

Idk if Ryan can recruit in Chicago and Milwaukee with consistent results. He's a good coach but to be better they'd need someone that can lock up any in-state talent and has some in-roads to Chicago and some of Indiana.

what struggle? the "trying to form a basketball team that can compete from madison fukking wisconsin struggle" ?? how many schools last 12 years of success would you trade wiskys 12 years for? 15? 20? 25? theres not many that have had a better run since ryan has been there, and hes doing it with basically garbage, and doing it in madison wisconsin. hes done a phenomenal job. youve seen a ncaa tourney win in 11 of 12 years, and seen the second weekend of the tourney 5 of the 12 years. what the fukk is wrong with that? team has been bounced once in the first round in 12 tourneys at fukking wisconsin and its a "struggle"

In theory he should be able to recruit from the Chi... seeing as Illinois doesnt have much clout.

Our lack of talent has as much to do with Ryans coaching style as it does location & school reputation. Dude refuses to go after high profile recruits. Its commendable but really fukking frustrating.

Recruiting the Chicago Public Schools is an absolute mess with handlers and all that. Complete crapshoot every year of where those kids will go...

Ive only been a fan for the last 7-8 years, but his teams always seem to disappoint when there's alot of hype. Youre right its not fair to discredit his entire legacy.. Im just speaking on my personal experience as a fan.

Going 16-0 and then losing 3 games to unranked teams is pretty fukking surreal
