Man there is so much they could do with this series. If its popular i see no reason for them to end it.......at least keep it going with a spin-off.

I agree, there is so much they could do with that series, but the production cost for it must be OUTRAGEOUS with finding all the period clothes, cars,and sets. for a movie is one thing, but for a tv series,its' gotta be crazy. plus that show has really good actors with buscemi, jeff wright, michael k williams, and michael shannon. even cats like shea whigam (eli) has been a ridiculous # of movies.

The best time to leave, is on top. Look what happened with Breaking Bad, it left when the fire was still hot. Now its one of the best series of all time. Could there be more, yeah, but you cannot deny the 5-6 years were absolute fun. Just because not all series have end with a happy ending, it can end with a downer because the character arc says so.

You cannot go off of ratings always. Just because not everyone owns AMC or FX, or HBO. They are not national networks like ABC, FOX, CBS, and NBC. The only difference is that the FCC can regulate heavily more on the National Networks, where AMC can have more leeway.

Why are you putting AMC together with HBO? Ratings absolutely matters to basic cables like AMC. If BB ha ratings even close to what it got in final season it would have ran a lot longer than just 5 seasons.

I agree with a general mob spinoff, but while the New York part was handled very well, I can't say the same for Chicago. All of the major players in Chicago have been misportrayed on the show.

- Dean O'Banion is an idiot, plain and simple. In reality he was incredibily tough, fearless and charismatic. All of his people genuinely loved him and would have laid down their lives for him. He had the most dangerous guys in Chicago under him. The dolt on the show would have never inspired loyalty or been capable of leading a gang of hard, vicious killers.

-And as much as the show tries to make Capone look like a an idiot and a loose cannon, he was actually a very sharp businessman. He was the type to "go along to get along", not the ultraviolent guy on the show. And Capone snorting coke is just ridiculous.
The fact is that Frank Capone should have been portrayed the way Al is portrayed. On the show Frank is the smart, charming, tempered, power behind the throne type(like Stringer Bell) but in real life he was a fukking psycho.

Because they both put out Dramas, that aren't National. As for Breaking Bad, they were going to stop the series after 5 just because it a good time to end it.

AMC has almost 100million subscribers. BB ended in 5 seasons because it had poor ratings, no need for fanboy excuses putting AMC with HBO

You can keep saying the same things about BB having poor ratings but then why are you so interested in bashing BB. If you like BB, awesome but if not, why do you have keep talking about it's ratings. Even if it ever had bad ratings, BB was loved in pop culture; elevating Bryan Cranston status, and creating one of the most compelling figures since Tony Soprano.

There didn't have to be no more seasons. The story was fresh, and ending made sense. It's like stretching gum, the material is thick but the more you stretch it, the thinner it becomes and soon the holes develop. Soon the gum breaks, and the entire concept is broken.

Uh....no. All of this is wrong. Vince Gilligan was talking about the show going for 4, maybe 5 seasons total back when the 2nd season was on. The only time it was almost cancelled was after season 4, because AMC had blew something like $30 mill on "Mad Men". That's also why Frank Darabont was fired from "The Walking Dead".

Gilligan threatened to take the show to another network if he didn't get 16 more episodes, they gave him 16 eps, and that's it. It ending after 5 seasons was never hinged on it's ratings, nor if it had better ratings would it have gotten more seasons. By that logic they would've tried to extend the series after the 9th ep of season 5 premiered to 6 million people, more than "Boardwalk Empire", "Game of Thrones", etc.

Lastly, Dreamworks offered Gillgan/Sony/AMC $75 million to continue the story after the final episode. The final decision was Gilligan's, and he turned them down because there was no more story to tell. So that's why it ended, not ratings.
