Okay Harrow could take him out then what? Jimmy does not command any respect from his crew, they questioned every move he made and Capone and the others looked at him as a joke. If Jimmy had killed Nucky which would have made no sense, then what? Harrow by himself is going to take on AR, Torrio and Capone, not to mention Gyps boss? Jimmy was always a number 2 never the top guy. Plus you really think Jimmy had the smarts of Nucky? To make those connections with the irish, with Harry in the white house, plus that guy who he worked with to set up AR at the end of last season? Chulky used to call Jimmy son, sorry Jimmy takes orders from top, not gives them.

Gillian and the old father, yes one is flabby and sick and one is brain dead and this is who could take out Nucky? One of the smartest and most respected gangsters of all time? Lets see commodore goes to jail, Nucky doesn't , commodore loses respect of the city, Nucky a hero. Gillian does nothing. Jimmy was a dummy, plain and simple compared to Nucky, by learning under him like Lansky and Lucky learn under AR, he could have been great like those 2. He was never coming up, never not with his mom and father as council, so he makes brute force moves, that got him nowhere, all he had to do was pay Manny 5k , and he stalled on that. Dumb move. This era was the era of smarts, taking liquor and flipping it multiple times, using your guns only when you had too.

Nucky didn't even want jimmy being a gangster but if he was going to be one he needed some grooming instead he just became the commodities pawn . The commodore wasn't going to live forever and Jimmy's only real alliance was harrow ( all the other young goons would of killed jimmy if ordered too ) some other hotshot would of took jimmy for eventually

mob wars are not fought one on one , Nucky was not scared of Jimmy at all, he was just surprised that he could kill so easy without thought. Bottom line Jimmy is a number 2 or 3 in a crew, he is a Monk from the wire or better yet Chris, smart and capable of following orders but not running a crew. Like Stat said, those other guys listened and learned how to do business the right way. You think AR would be scared of Jimmy in a gang war or Torrio in chi town?
