Maybe, Mayweather knew it that they gonna stop them fight on May 2nd which is why he choose the date to make it look like they're the one stopped the fight and not Floyd.
Didn't Cotto vs Canelo suppose to be fight on May 2nd. Even Canelo said himself that De La Hoya and Bob Arum would choose them over Floyd vs Pac.
It seems Floyd find the way to avoid the fight?.

Usually people say they want to fight around a certain time of year.
The only guy I can think of who always fights on a specific date is Cotto with the PR parade.

And on Cinco de Mayo weekend? 4 times in the last 7 years.
