where is he right?

People shouldn't come here and expect Americans to conform to them, it should be the other way around. Nobody is saying people should abandon their cultures, but they should respect the one that they chose to come and live amongst.

This isn't really an Indian problem anyway because most Indians observe their cultures at home or in temples and community centers that they fund and pay for themselves, it's obvious he was just telling white people shyt they want to hear.

This.

Assimilation means sacrifices ultimately and you have to be real about that.

Muslims in Europe need to understand this.

Strawman. Who expects America to conform to their culture and who doesn't respect American culture (you'll also have to define American culture here)? Identify these populations since its so easy to identify their negative actions.

So how exactly was he right?

People who are adamant that English shouldn't be the official language of the United States, people who accuse Americans who support the integrity of the nations borders of racism, people who refuse to learn the language even after living here for decades and then try to get tax dollars to pay for programs that benefit their communities only, people who want to come here illegally and have babies just to "mark their territory." fukk all that.

So how exactly was he right?

He's right in principle, it's just that his example doesn't really apply to Indians...he knows that, his audience doesn't.

he's actually not...he said a lot of bullshyt there but I'll let you quote what you think is right and prove you wrong

he's right that people that come to the us should assimilate to the united states

i think there might be some academic reasons for hyphenations but culturally its better for hyphenations to disappear from american culture, the lack of cultural cohesion that is created by promoting "multiculturalism" eventualy will make the country fall apart and make it harder to govern and to do things

the biggest sign of this is the whole "press 1 for english" movement where people are trying to turn america into a bilingual country

People who are adamant that English shouldn't be the official language of the United States

People argue against this because it's born from xenophobia, not out of appreciation of the English language.

people who accuse Americans who support the integrity of the nations borders of racism

Again another policy of bigots and xenophobes. Baby boomers had no cares about the integrity of the border when coke and crack were infiltrating urban neighborhoods. Not to mention that both republicans and democrats alike profit off of illegal labor.

lol @ "integrity" of the nations borders...pay fair wages

You prob supported this law too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arizona_SB_1070 :mjpls:

people who refuse to learn the language even after living here for decades

Because there is no correlation between the ability to learn English and socioeconomic level. But nah they come over and REFUSE to learn the language that will increase their economic prospects :mjpls:

and then try to get tax dollars to pay for programs that benefit their communities only

:skip: didn't know this was unique to immigrant communities

people who want to come here illegally and have babies just to "mark their territory." fukk all that.

Mark their territory? Did you just trivialize the will to survive as a need to "mark territory":

Driven from Honduras by gangs that brandished machetes and robbed his grandmother’s home, Carlos trekked to the border in June with his cousin and a guide, bumping along on buses “all day and night,” he recalled.

He's right in principle, it's just that his example doesn't really apply to Indians...he knows that, his audience doesn't.

His point was never supposed to apply to just Indians. His audience didn't even comprehend that it only had to do do with Indians. He even states, "Indian-Americans, Irish-Americans, African-Americans, Italian-Americans, Mexican-Americans AND ALL THE REST."
