No stupid. The years of someones sentences in accordance to the slang term is based on the scoring in football. You're not going to see 20 on a basketball or baseball scoreboard but you will in football. Every sport will have those numbers on a jersey. The only difference is in the score. Otherwise you can say baseball numbers and basketball numbers.
Football players don't even wear jerseys with those numbers like that. Every reference ever made in culture comes from popularity. Who the hell gets together and decided to make a slang term based on numbers of players no one cared about?
And again, baseball has all those numbers. The fundamental difference between the sports is how they score points on a consistent basis.
