Posters in this thread tryna to downplay the crime in Chicago sound like pit bull owners saying their dogs don’t bite :russ:

It's like what I call thugholm syndrome. Regular hardworking folk live among the chaos so much they began to see the thug on demontime in themselves so that from 13-45 for these Innocent gentlemen they advocate, cry and get laws changed to support his dysfunction.

Aside from sistas wild teens in the ski masks and dudes who done long bids are the most protected class. If you have gone to get an education and get die via a robbery your life doesn't matter outside of your own family.

You can provide real life examples and some idiot will say , "but but but dat particular example happen 1 yr ago. ". I'm like you fool some family lost their father, mother and child.

I say this with family still in Chicago and these other democratic run cities. One of which I own property and pay property taxes.

They come downtown and get it in too. The youth moving around more than the previous generations did.
The Henry Horner homes used to be right on Lake Street near downtown. When you add those projects to the others projects like Cabrini Greem over on Chicago Avenue then you can see that crime used to be much worse in the 80s and 90s in downtown. Even then downtown used to be pretty safe. Those projects have been gone for a while and downtown is even safer now. You are the only person that I have ever heard of refer to downtown Chicago as hood.

Quote me saying downtown is the hood. And prove downtown was more crime ridden in the 80s and 90s. 80s and 90s was dope boy era and nikkas use to battle for territory in the areas you quoted and more.

Im saying downtown has a violent element to it. But from the numerous shootings at downtown clubs, hotels, mag mile and etc, it has a hood flavor.

Yup. It’s the same in Philly except they used to have enough sense to keep it contained in the hoods in North and West Philly, far from the nice downtown areas. And here the killings historically have been moreso about drugs and petty neighborhood beef. Not organized gang fights. Even then, most middle class Black folk in Philly have moved out to DelCo, Montgomery County, Chester County (PA suburbs) and parts of Delaware and New Jersey to separate themselves from the foolishness. More recently though, the dumb nikkas in Philly have been getting more flagrant and shooting up places that are closer to downtown and doing it just because (not for drugs or for beefs between people). So I understand your frustration. If Philly ever got to be as bad as Chicago, the city would empty out even more than it’s emptying right now because it’s already fukked up. Nobody wants to live around that. It’s a shame because Chicago is a gorgeous city.

Filks gotta understand that companies this large get sweetheart deals to come in. When the terms run out, usually the other cities swoop in with tax incentives to try and build themselves up.

I hate that it is a thing but that is how it works. Hella tech companies are moving in though so for those of us in that field, we pick up where they left off.

Do you think if the tech companies come in do you will up to some serious security ie Black Water for the workers?

If they come en masse, they likely plant themselves downtown especially as that real estate maybe gets cheaper due to WFH. If it happens like that, I just expect Downtown to be less touristy and far more "You don't belong around here :mjpls: " Currently the Red line connects all manner of foolishness to downtown cause folks from the south side ain't got bread for the parking meters. Basically, there will be less reason to hang in the business districts than ever unless you actually work there. For all we know, that might push more condos to open up and the upscale stores will have a greater police presence.

This is already in the works.

The Lincoln Yards and the 708 are new residential and business districts in the works for the south loop and around Lincoln Park. Meanwhile, the redline will be extended south past 95th to 130th because black people south and east will be "displaced" to the south suburbs. Did anyone talk about how the mexicans are flooding southside black communities?

Citadel has been in Chicago for 32 years.
Boeing has been in Chicago for 21 years.
Caterpillar has been in Illinois for 90 YEARS.

NOW they're worried about crime?

Do people actually believe this bullshyt?

:mjlol:
Exactly. Mafia hits didn't bother them but some random brehs on the other side of town got them scairt? :russ:

Born and raised in Texas. Companies move here because it's very anti-worker and they offer lots of incentive$$$. Big bonus is that you have the second largest population in the Union and lots of talented workers...every race plus lots of Asians and African immigrants bringing those 6 certs.

It's like the anti-union, biz friendly aspects of the rest of the South with a MUCH larger population of educated workers like California...plus you got all the Central American labor for blue collar shyt.

It's all about money...that's it.

Some states are so dumb to keep taxes high, which pushes businesses out. Driving jobs out of their own state smh
