Ran back a lot of this last night while watching Thursday Night Football. Lot of shyt I like about this project. Boldy is on point again, damn near every verse and line hits. If I have a criticism it's moreso on the production side. Nicholas Craven is very hit and miss to me because 99% of his shyt is just loops. So if it's a dope loop it's cool, if the sample isn't cool it gets boring quick. So for instance Town And Country is one of the best things I've heard this year lol, shyt is fukking amazing. And then right after that you get Scrabble which isn't a bad song but the sample is kind of boring so yea. There are more hits than misses on here beat wise but it def makes me miss more dynamic shyt like Alchemist, Navy Blue, Moor Mother, and some of the other producers who are doing this shyt.

Overall I'm def fukking with the album overall. Boldy has yet to miss for me. The project he did with Real Bad Man earlier this year is good too.
Yeah I couldn't agree more. Craven seems like a good dude too so I feel bad that I'm almost always borderline talking shyt, but the formula gets old quick for me. Everything seems like a loop with almost nothing sprinkled on top. Scrabble gets repetitive fast.

I think my favorite joints on here are actually the last 4 in a row. And Town & Country.

Boldy is just such a unique emcee right now. He balances being straightforward with also being left field very well. He makes difficult rhyme patterns sound real easy, and the picture painting and clever wordplay has leveled up so much. Can't wait for his next projects with V Don, Futurewave, and Alchemist. Edit: And the Dilla one of that's actually real.

This is solid.

But I thought Death and Taxes was better than anything that ended up on here

Definitely the closest thing we’ve had to prime Prodigy.

I’m sure that’s why Alc loves him so much.
I know people hate this take on here but I be feeling the same way

When I listen to Boldy I feel like I spent a weekend in Detroit, just like Prodigy used to have me feeling like I was in Queensbridge :banderas:

Um yeah your criticism about Craven is on point. I personally don't like his production if you can even call using mostly untouched loops production... To each their own. Seeing him named with other producers in here has me looking like:scust:

I went from finding Boldy super boring and sleepy a few years ago to being one of my favorite rappers.

There's just something about the way he paints vivid pictures in his lyrics...and his flow/delivery just has a hypnotic quality to me now.
