I just read an article he wrote last week about hoe drakes album has shut the door on older rap fans. Dude is 33.

I was also told he claimed Outkast are better than Tribe and supported it with arguments for Kast that all apply more so and earlier in the rap timeline to quest.

Again, why is a dorky sports guy commenting on hip hop again?

Yeah I went back and forth with him about Tribe vs. NWA for about an hour on Twitter, and he won the debate :to: His thing was that Tribe fans "act like the last two albums didn't happen," and that NWA was the most influential rap group of all time, for better or for worse. Dude actually knows his hip-hop pretty well though, I'm pretty sure he covered it for a while along with his music coverage

Lol. Can't play a musical instrument yet is a genius. :what:.. Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, Brian Wilson, Michael Jackson, etc = musical geniuses. I can't co-sign someone who doesn't have the technical proficiency of their job mastered. Really that simple. He's a great producer and undoubtedly has an ear for music though. :yeshrug: MBDTF is his best work.

The last two albums have joints. NWA only has 2 albums, an ep and an embarrassing west coast boogie comp. also, idlewild is waaaaaaaaay worse than love movement. Beats rhymes life is as good or better than Stankonia it just wasn't pr'd as positively.

I'll roast bomani.

Was Kanye ever the first to do anything? Or the best to do anything? I'm not totally discounting his contributions because he's had great moments, but where does the genius come in at?

Kanye fukking sucks. Yeezus is his coolest album and everyone hates it. I have zero respect for anyone thinks otherwise musically.

His albums are so tied to the lame ass era they live in.

Who IS a genius all around tho?

Give credit where credit is due...you hating ass cac. :what:

There are people who make great music and are incredibly smart outside of music. David Banner comes to mind.

I am hating when I just said that very few can see him in terms of his music genius? Maybe you should have read the rest of the thread before you got all upset :snoop:
