Ayo, this shyt really started with a Just Blaze instrumental for no damn reason.
Going off the opening monologue, they either need to bring in an audience, or work on Bo's timing. A key part of jokes coming off flat is not letting the jokes breathe. A lot of comedians have said that having an audience there to play off of helps you get the timing down until you can just do it mentally.
Seems like they thought the same thing with the second monologue segment in the middle, since the onset crew were helping him out with the reactions.
The teleprompter/stiffness issues will get better with time. It's worth considering that all of his previous TV experience has been home just sitting in front of a camera and talking freely until a producer or host lets him know his time's up.
That Duke segment was pretty good. Not all the jokes landed, but it's a good start. I think this has potential to round into a pretty good show, as long as he stays away from being pretentious/holier-than-thou Bomani.
Breh.
