I completely forgot that HBO was a channel on cable. For some reason, I thought it was an HBO Max exclusive.

“What if we took the daily show and instead of generally likable (I can't stand him he corny) Trevor Noah we replace him with someone that is less charismatic less comfortable has no comedic background make it about sports and make one of the lead writers a giant fat guy who hosts a podcast called theblackguywhotips.”

It doesn't sound like a recipe for success. A more 1:1 translation of his podcast into a television show would have been more entertaining; I don't know if it would have been made, though.

Watching now. And yeah....the current event punchline bit is legit awful. Basic jokes delivered by someone unfamiliar with delivering someone else's basic jokes. Not a good recipe.

The criticism of the trans person appearing on screen is silly. They exist. They are among us. They go to museums. Them being on camera doesn’t impact anyone's life. It’s not clear to me what people are objecting to.


How could they know that the show flopped? Did HBO release numbers?


Where are you seeing that people want Bomani to fail, Tariq disciples excluded? Everyone Here for the most part has made some valid critiques. Pointing out the first episode was mid does not = wanting him to fail.

he says a lot of stuff that I'm surprised makes it on air. And from listening to dude over a decade, he's never been shy to call out white folks on their stuff.

Do I cosign him 100%? Of course not, nobody does that shyt with anyone. But I agree with him much more than I disagree. There are some things I'm on the complete opposite side of the spectrum argument wise and some I rock with him 100% on.

But nah, callin cacs out on their bs has been consistent with him IMO. And dude is no where close to a c00n. Especially with his upbringing.
