Why cant they accept that a lot of people just don’t like Bomani. It’s not about wanting hot takes over substance, it’s Bomani. I consume a lot of MLB radio and video content, and if you do the same you know of all the sports it lends itself the least to hot takes and is almost all substance, and I strongly dislike Bomani.

All of it isn’t even his fault, even his voice is annoying. But he isn’t doing himself any favors by being so sensitive that he resorts to banning twitter followers who weren’t lock step in agreement with him. Those same people you banning are who you need to sustain your show! If you can’t handle them on Twitter you damn sure won’t be able to handle them on the air now.

I get it. He's not for everyone. You don't have to like a mufukka. You know from being at GT that EVERYONE there was smart. But I hated mufukkaz there that acted like they were smarter than everyone else. Was like mufukka, everyone here is smart, you ain't special! :stopitslime:

That's why I stopped listening to Evening Jones when he was shytting on the callers. What kinda sense that make? The blocking people on Twitter was more for trolls, but he did go overboard on that as well at times. It's okay for you to troll (he stay clowning the Knicks), but you can't take it in return?

The Right Time is my shyt though. Dunno why he couldn't be more like that on Game Theory.

I know it's not gonna give him a huge payday, but a reboot of the morning jones would probably work best IMO.

he would still have time to do side hustles and what not.
The Right Time is morning jones light pretty much.

But I would def enjoy that. Bring back the gang. shyt, he can still do some of the shyt that worked on Game Theory and keep Rod on behind the scenes as a producer or something.

The guy you replied to is right. Bomani stinks and his arrogance is through the roof and for what? He doesn't say anything ground breaking or anything special. If I had to give you why i dislike him in one statement: "He always sounds like hes trying to "AKTUALLY" people when he talks"

Just checked the Evening Jones episode. He talked about the show getting cancelled, all the great work they did with the show, the response to the cancellation and stuff like that. He's talked about it over the years, but being fired or having a show cancelled doesn't faze him at this point. Every show gets cancelled eventually. I think his ceiling is higher than the eloquent sports/culture guy, but he clearly has a niche in it and executives believe it too. What he brings content-wise outweighs his shortcomings in my books

Personally, I didn't feel like i got my stripes in entertainment industry until I got fired lmao a couple years ago. I've been in the sports/entertainment game for 10+ yrs and this shyt is fickle, shows get cancelled, people get fired and you bounce back and get ready for the next opportunity.

Bomani Jones is wack. That’s why his show got cancelled. He’s not cool. Leave it at that.
Only person who doesnt know that is bomani. He needs his stugotz but i dont think hed be willing to share mic like that.

Max Kellerman worked with Marcellus. Did not work keyshawn or jay williams bc they too take themselves serious. But then again max dont come off as a lame

nah thats not true. He has unique takes on sports and social events. Problem is he doesnt know how to package it to the listeners where he dont come off as a lame.

He is the only sports or culture talking head I listen too. Yea he is a little smug but his content is 100% more grounded, unforced, and just plain out better than most sports talk shows or culture shows.

He tints stuff into a black perspective but he don’t overdue it and let it overshadow what he is doing.

And I agree with him like he said on Evening Jones, him just getting on HBO is an accomplishment enough especially as a proud black man.

either that or Rod told him :russ:

did Bomani double down on treating his fans like shyt or did he accept the constructive criticism that will make the show more tolerable
He compared his shyt-talking to fans to Don Rickles and Dolemite shytting on audience members at their comedy shows.
You get what you pay for and for some fans it maybe the highlight of their lives to get clowned by him.:mjlol:
Tongue and cheek but you can tell he wanted to address it.

No doubt.
If you work in entertainment, getting cancelled is just part of the game. I've been on a gang of canceled shows... everything can't be The Simpsons, Law and Order, Wheel of Fortune or The Tonight Show.
