TLOU gets blown up because one it look pretty and two had a decent story. The gameplay was nothing special. That an example of a graphics first game. Ryse is in the same boat it just has a unintresting story to some and its hack and slash.
:dahell:

Don't compare Ryse to TLOU breh... I can't even believe I just read this post.

The Last of Us has a GREAT story and a good multiplayer mode. It gets hyped and even mentioned in GOTG discussions because the game was an experience like none other. Has PBS doing breakdowns on it's brilliance from a storytelling and moral perspective

:wow:

The gameplay was refined and polished and the atmosphere of the game was amazing from start to finish. You can't be serious.

Um yes just like most PS3 fans. Most dont have the old school fat one with the backwards capability so they bought the updated slim models too. The extra one was not due to the second one failing.
:ehh: true. alot of slims going around. i have one as well but i picked it up used :yeshrug:

I said it had a good story. Damn what you want? I did not bring up multi-player because I never played that portion of it.

Nah, you said "decent" story.

Decent =/= Good

And GOOD doesn't do it justice. The story was amazing and pulls you in. Rarely does a game make you feel for the characters like TLOU

:ufdup:

Don't downplay the greatness of TLOU

The story was better than most of the writing and storytelling found on The Walking Dead. Watch it now... don't talk negatively about one of the GOATs

Damn I'm late. The fact that the PS3 launched a year after the 360 at nearly double the price and came out on top at the end should tell you who won. Even if the numbers aren't accurate or within say 1M its very impressive. Also anyone trying to debate that the PS3 wasn't more powerful loses all credibility. Early on 360 had the edge in multiplats because it used DX which has been around over a decade and SONY developed a highly specialized PowerPC architechture. It was a huge gamble, that and the BluRay player made the system extremely expensive. But in the end games looked better and BluRay is the HD optical standard (Remember this) And lets not act like there wasn't a significant amount of 360 owners that have went throught multiple boxes. Yea they offered the coffins eventually, but that was long after the failure rate was near 40%. So basically if you and your boy got a box to play together, welp, one of ya'll nikkas goin down.

Now as far as games go, sure PS3 started off slow but gained momentum and finished up very strong. If we're going to talk about exclusives we had Uncharted Series, MGS4, LBP Series, TLOU, MLB The Show, Ratchet/Clank, Infamous, Killzone Series, Resistance Series, GoW, Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo. This is what I can name off the top of my head, thats over 20 right there. Now I can already hear people saying, oh who plays Ratchet or LBP, so and so game wasn't that great. Well that was the greatness of the triple it wasn't just a bunch of shooters, the variety is what made the catalog so great.

On to this generation, ok some may say the PS4 doesn't have such a strong lineup. I suppose you could make the argument because the best exclusive is Killzone. I finally took a look at the XB1 launch lineup and honestly isn't very impressive to me. The main exclusives are Ryse, Forza and Dead Rising. Of the three Forza is the only one that looks very good. Dead Rising I do like the concept, but the those struggle frames? I'll pass, and I've said before Ryse looks like it would get a little stale, we'll see. The only game I'm interested in, which isn't out yet is TitanFall (surprise another shooter). The multiplat games, BF COD Madden 2K, which people seem to forget are also available will be more than enough to hold the average gamer down till next spring when more exclusives drop.

lol Damn you on Sony PR team? With all that said it comes down to Japan. the 360 barely sold there. With PS4 having a strangle hold their it closed the gap. I dont know where all this it beat 360 has came from. Its been proven incorrect in this very thread.

I still don't understand why people act like a console sold overseas shouldn't count as a console sold. How do you win a generation and you only have significant market penetration in one region?
