I'm curious....when did people start getting into watching others play games?

Like I'll watch tutorials on a Soulsborne game when facing a tough boss. Might watch my wife play something and have football on the laptop.....but random white dudes gaming....am I missing something?

I’ll be honest..
I used to say the same shyt about how watching others play games is dumb. But I’ve watched ItsReal85 play through a bunch of games cause he’s funny & he plays a variety of games. As a sports games & shooter games only nikka I like to see other types of games on some occasions.
