We will use a setup for this, and use one of Savage's last WCW promos that alluded to something, but never played out.

On the October 25, 1999 edition of Nitro, Savage appeared in the ring with Gorgeous George, and talked about passing the torch forward.[100]

Following that appearance, Savage returned to WCW for one night only and joined The Millionaire's Club—a group consisting of Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and other veterans—aiding them at the end of a 41-man battle royal on the May 3, 2000 edition of Thunder.[101] Despite Savage ending the show claiming he was going to help the veteran group take out young New Blood group, Savage never appeared again on WCW before they folded the next year.

So he definitely stepping down, and wanted to give props to a young star on the comeup. Who is this star? Is he a heel or face? Is he someone that is currently in the company, or a fresh debut? Does Savage want to mentor him? Or battle him, and prove that he's still able to beat the youngest, best talent out. Do either of them turn on each other in the process?

THROW IDEAS! (Would make sense to end the story with Macho losing a retirement match.)
