Little things like

“I rarely carried a burner, but always when I drove or re-upped”

A paragraph later “ I was driving with but i had no burner”

“we always stayed strapped, had to have it on you”

Next up “I hid my heat on the grass or the bushes, never on me”

Etc

Doesn’t take away from the stories, but it’s frustrating
:dead: ugod is funny

I think he hit shyt dead on when talking boyt wus business.

I didnt know each member put in 70gz a piece for wuwear and got nothing from it. Thats wavk.

I didnt know the members themselves had to pay rza to put the w on their albums. Thats wack.

While rza did release all of them from their contracts for nothing (ask suge and diddy if they ever did that) he def setup some shotty b.i. Practices by having divine be in control but really how much could rza actually do... someone has to handle the business and who better than your actual brother versus some random wholl def rob you.

For every negative thing rzas done there are positives.

Im still mad at the OUATIS album which ugod stated it exactly like how i seen it, cilvaringz lied to each member to get them to do an album for him.

Ringz van say he paid wvery member but meth already stated he complained about meths asking price which is what he gets paid to be on wu albums.

Album was never gon drop and rza got t shelved and made a million while doing so. But the clan def deserves bread from the sale... its their names that makeup wutang.

Its a slippery slope when it comes to business when you got a 12/13 man team (9/10 members of wu, dj mathamatics, power and divine). Its very hard to place blame.

All i can say is while rza DOES do pretty kuch everything when it comes to their albums, HE WANTED that position... so when he comes up short he should be held accountable because hes the one who wants to juggle 9 careers at once.

Deck is the biggest casualty of wus business. Dude shoulda been as big as rae, nas, etc but instead hes doing shyt with 7l and esoteric...this the dude with the most famous wu verses and yet hes treated like a nobody.

at the end of the day rza did his job, he got them off the blocks :yeshrug:

Did U mention how the Wu-Tang Records label folded in large part after paying U a near major label advance on Redemption and not recouping it when his album didn't sell in this book?

Not out to call anyone's hands clean in this mess of amateurs coming up in and trying to create their own version of a music business where the blueprint, template & foundation of how to run business is artist exploitation, but U-God's expressions and grievances of how the business went are understandably just his view.

I hope people read & enjoy U's book for what it is, and big-ups to him for branching out in this new lane but just understand that this book is his take on things and don't take it as gospel truth or the whole picture.

I hear that point but then when you got members critiscizing his albums and him not giving a fukk theres gotta be some point where cooler heads prevail.

Like they all went against him (well ghost rae meth) for 8diagrams when that album was actually in tune with the wu sound and rza was just updating it.

Yet when they were given abt where were they then talking biyt it being bad? 8d was waaaaaay better than abt.

Rza wants to control their albums today, which is the problem. Ugod said theybwere goving a cpl months to record a wutang album... thats bad business on rzas prt because the music is lackluster. That bad business has plagued wus brand for 15 years now.

So while he did get them offbthe block, he is currently a control freak and its not helping matters today.

Rza says he spent half a million of his own money to tour around atudios tobget music ready for abt... you dont thibk that money woulda been better spent if rza just couped up made 50 beats and got up with HIS BROTHERS instead of reahing out to old musicians for the lackluster project that ia abt?

And i van see rzas side too. They ALL moved away circa 98 and rza didnt even really FALL until like 06 and even then he was still dropping fire.

I just dont get how rza is goving fire tracks to guys like earl sweatshirt, rocky fresh, tinashe, etc but cant give the wu the beats they need to succeed.

Only in rzas mind did wu fans wanna hear a song like “preachers daughter”

So i agree half with you. He got them out the hood. Yes. But hes made himself be the focal point to make it work, having his hands in everything, and frankly its too much and has led to too many bad business moves. 50 yr old men dont like to be told what to do and sadly that is how wu is setup... what rza says goes
