Pretty rich of Booker to say this given that a) TNA was known for this during its first 10-15 years of existence b) he is among those who did his retirement tour there c) the current age of the main event and upper card talent currently in WWE, and d) they are bringing back a 55 year old Chris Jericho on a big contract.

Who has AEW given a retirement run/match to? Sting and Christopher Daniels pop up in my head. Danielson too, but I don't truly believe he's retired. Jeff Jarrett said he was going to win the Owen, lost and sort of just disappeared.

Other than Sting going on a retirement tour, which was well deserved for him and lucrative for them, I don't know who the hell Booker is even talking about :mjlol:

Most of the main roster in AEW is people in their prime years of wrestling.

Just this year WWE brought in Goldberg for a "last match.."

Not only are they legitimately doing a retirement tour for Cena right now, but you can expect Jericho and Orton to get ones over the next couple years.

Sounds line He wasn’t talking just about people working at older ages or getting retirement tours, he meant old inactive wrestlers literally getting paid to do nothing …he specifically named Flair as an example and the article named

He further also commented about Ric Flair’s AEW status before calling the Jacksonville-based promotion a ‘retirement spot’. Sharing his views, the Hall of Famer said, “Ric Flair is still under contract [with AEW] from what I’ve been hearing. What has he done? What has Ric Flair done for AEW? It’s a safe haven. It’s definitely a retirement spot, if you’re definitely looking to wrap this up in the right way. I get it, man. I get it. Seriously.”

Sounds like a compliment to me…..isn’t that one of the biggest talking points for why it’s good for wwe to have “competition”…guys Flair, Arn, Big Show, Mark Henry all got big checks to basically do nothing…guys like Copeland and Christian have a avenue for some one to pay them as if they were still draws at this stage of their career…a billionaire trick is good for the game
