Just got done reading Eaters of the Dead by Michael Crichton. Not going to front but the book had me believing it for a minute until the first meeting of the wendol and there wasn't a footnote explaining it lol.
Either way it was an engaging story all the way through. I didn't know it was made into the movie 13th Warrior until I was looking at the covers on Goodreads

I was, like, all here for the marathon of misery, the bleakness, and all that, but the ending?

Idk how I feel about it just yet; I just know that it was abrupt as hell, lol. I'm even more interested to see what they'll do what the movie now :patrice:

Going in I knew the book was written in a response to the Vietnam War and the ending brought it all home to me. A lot of soldiers that survived came home and were completely broken physically and mentally.

That's what I was leaning toward too, but of course, going down the rabbit hole online, mfs is mentioning the man in black being the personification of death or connected to Flagg even (which a helluva reach but who knows)
full

I just wanted to know if da homie to Ray got to slide up in Jan's cheeks :mjcry:

I read that too but I think that is a complete stretch.

I think Garraty ended up completely cracked in the head and died shortly with never knocking anything down

:gucci:Im still on this book. Read 5 chapters tonight. 48-52. Idk wtf is wrong with me, maybe I'm desensitized. But none of these books are shocking like Game Of Thrones ASOIAF. It's not boring, I'm just saying with the time jumps and shyt I just wanted to see more killing. Red Rising is his best book of the 6. It's not a bad series, just need Red God to be the most twists and turns and surprising deaths.

Just finished reading The Godfather by Mario Puzo. It's been a minute since I've watched the movie and since reading the book I've had the urge to marathon the trilogy and play the new Mafia game 😄
The book is definitely a page turner and is just as enjoyable as the movie but I don't know if I would consider it a classic like I would the movie, however

The best comparison I've heard between the book and the movie is 'Name 20 movies better than The Godfather.' It’s very hard to do that. Then they say 'Name 20 books better than The Godfather.' It’s very easy to do that.
