I don't know what's to come of America but I believe that White America is clearly pushing to "take back" the cities...and I think we should let them.

(1) I think we should return to the land (suburbs) & what we used to know. For instance, food desserts become less of an issue when you can grow your own food in the back yard.

(2) Given that all family members are a positive, non detrimental influence, we should embrace home sharing. I would love to have a small multi family unit where my parents stay on one floor & I live on the next. It's literally like one mortgage but multiple owners. As long as people understand boundaries, and my parents are great at that, this could work.

(3) I do encourage dual citizenship...for an option.

(4) We need to embrace multiple careers. Biblically, we should have 8 streams of income b/c we don't know when one stream will come to a halt. That would do wonders when the pending recession hits.

I haven't done any of the above yet, but I'm just trying to save money & pay off debt now so I am more prepared when/if another depression does happen.

Lastly, WTH happened to Occupy Wallstreet? It disappeared out of thin air.

Sister, you have not gone mad.

No shade - if I were you, I'd also be thankful I didn't have any kids right now as well (you didn't mention any children, so I'm assuming you don't have any). Being a mother, thinking exactly how you think, is the type of shyt that will keep you up at night (speaking from experience), and the one thing that will keep you from burying your head in the sand and being apathetic, no matter how difficult things seem to be and when you just want to give up.

At least yours is a small, tight-knit group comprised of people who are willing to listen, cooperate and adapt to something new. I wish you well, however it pans out.
Been talking to this guy for a month or two and the topic of children came up. No lie, exactly like ur describing, I don't even know if I want to have children. A huge part of me does, but when I look at the state of the world, I don't know if I could handle it. And I know each generation has faced its problems but I feel like these are paradigm changing.

I am with @Rarely-Wrong Liggins on this one

And I will add my own thoughts as to motivation..
The word on these doomsday prepper etc types is that they fail at daily life
So they envision a day where the people who are successful at daily life get their ass handed to them
Then, the preppers can jump ahead in line and be the successful ones at this new world
..because [reasons]

So basically,, todays successful people are only that way because of tyranny and ass kissing
And once the field is even, today's failures can become the heroes

Now, I am saying this gently but clearly
This is not "you 36 and in a karate class?;?" etc
But from what I know of you, you are never married.. Childless.. And a professional student "unemployed" (I personally know a man who was a tenured professor at 35.. And I get the sense your IQ is higher than his,,, So..??)
And were (or maybe still are) overweight and unfit

And maybe you don't like looking at all that..
It doesn't meet expectations?; or match how you saw it going??
So your mind flits to other problems to solve

But why not be successful at the life you are actually living
And,, if that life goes to hell, then you use your past experience (and all those amazing skills you learned while being successful) to comeback to a successful level in the new world

There's a reason why the defending champ is usually favored to win again

Again, as rarely wrong said, if you were serious, you'd already have taken action.. This is just a form of procrastination and escapism

[all of this posted in the spirit of the threads intention.. To give her a devils advocate .. ]
I'll never be one of those "waiting on the world to end so my own life failures are legitimized" types. lol I know EXACTLY what ur talking about. I'm going to live the best life I can until i decide to make a legit decision about it.

For me, I'm in a state of flux. I do think this shyt is coming, but I sincerely believe we have a fighting chance of more of us realize what the hell is going on. I also resent the idea of running b/c my family has roots to our land that go back for damn near 300 yrs...but I don't know if this increasingly racist ass land is worth dying for.

How's your diet and sleep patterns? Also have you been diagnosed with anything like depression, anxiety etc?

Im not saying youre wrong about these outcomes, but at the same things if you have any conditions that might be triggered from certain events isnt healthy
I'm not really an anxious person. It takes a lot to stress me out. But I've always been distrustful of our government on a macro level but a lot of their policies are gonna be felt on a micro level which isn't good. I have the feeling of being herded towards a certain fate as a society.

All of that. I've often felt that we would do better away from urban centers. I'll never be sure if the exodus to the city was good for our community.
Also multigenerational living is a goal of mine as well. You just can't discount the benefits of raising your children near ur elders. And if there is one thing that is coming out of my paranoia, it's my quest for options. All of my immediately family members have either renewed passports or are getting them processed and I'm working on visa paperwork for Canada. It really can't hurt.

Thanks!

Waited 8 years into my marriage to have kids and, honestly, this is what I was thinking a lot of that time. Right after I had my second one, I used to sit up at night and watch them and just cry. I was thinking, what the fukk have I brought them into? They are still very young and this is still what I think about a lot, but I'm motivated to preserve their minds and spirits and prepare them as best I can.

Unfortunately, when you are in a family where elders just want grandkids and aren't thinking about the longterm future, it becomes apparent sharing thoughts like these are pointless, sadly.

My mother pushed me for years for grandkids, and I would ask her why, especially since her eyes were open to the fukkery of life as a black woman and black person in America. That's when I started figuring out folks are living delusions in their heads a lot of times. She would tell me God had a way of working things out.

In light of your thread, this morning I asked her, in a SHTF situation, would she want to stay or go, if she had to. She eventually told me she would stay and fight because God wants her to lead others here. Fair enough, I told her. Then I asked how she was preparing. Leaders always have to think ahead and see a situation in a way the average person isn't. She told me God would show her when it was time. I told her if she was being shown something now, that was an indication she should start doing work now so she could be ready at that time. In turn, what I got was a bunch of talk about how she likes to make decisions in the moment and trusts God to have her back when shyt gets apocalyptic.

Like I said, being delusional versus being proactive.

If you have the instinct to do something, sis, then by all means, start doing it.
