edit: actually after watching this i def remember seeing it numerous times as a kid, but i wasnt able to relate like i could now.

David Allen Grier shared some great stories about the filming of this recently. .

During the scene with him, Martin and Eddie shooting pool, Denzel showed up on a break from filming Malcolm X. He was method acting and wouldn't break character. He made them all feel like heathens for talking about fukking hoes during that scene..

I'd kill to see footage of that.

Jefferson's was on point though breh. The waay george jefferson used to clown his white ass neighbor in the interracial relationship lmao. No way would that make it on television in 2016.

See, I wasn't mad at that. What would get me was how he would switch up when that white dude Whittendale that owned everything would come through... He'd be on that c00n steez because he needed him to sign off on something, until Weezy would get at him and get his mind right.

Now that I think of it, many good black movies get shytted on by whites. I think it's because they're simply incapable of seeing things from a black person's perspective.

Life was another one, in my opinion; wasn't heavily received by mainstream, but enjoyable to all the brothas.

He didn't get the job because Lady Eloise was just the name of the brand; she didn't have any decision making powers; so she tricked the n1gga into thinking he was gonna come up if he smashed. When he ran into Robin Givens she broke the game down to him and told him what was really good; they answer to a board of directors, and she was the one who was running marketing.
