His anti BET and the anti Tyler Perry banned episodes were hilarious. They probably shut dude down, he went at their necks

"Pause" was a great episode, and I think that's the closest someone could come to telling us about Tyler. McGruder straight up put it in the episode.
Grandad: "You made up all this cross dressing cult crap, just so you could sleep with men?"
Winston: "Pretty much, yeah"

I interviewed him back in 2000 for my college newspaper after he gave a lecture there. This was years before the animated show was even a thought, but he had the most controversial and best newspaper strip in the country at the time.

For those of you who missed his strips, I urge you to pick up some of the collections he published. I love the cartoon, but a good deal of the political satire and commentary was completely stripped away in the show. The newspaper strip was 10x more clever and insightful.
