lol that's why XXL and The Source rating system is completely irrelevant.
How the hell can they give it less than they gave Cole World? Doesn't even make sense.

It's impressive but yet weaker than Cole World? Interesting.

I would guess that it was cause they didn't wanna give Kanye and Cole the same score. That's why Pitchfork (and others with x.x/10 system) has the best scale out, only 5 different ratings is weak.

I realize this but it seems stupid for one magazine to praise Cole World and shyt on Born Sinner, when the chief editor is the same as it was when Cole World dropped. "No growth sonically"? lol. Sonically this is by far his best album, overall might be something else.

Anyways there is 3 scenarios.
1. He actually feels this way, some comments are just plain stupid
2. He doesn't want to give Cole the same rating as Yeezus, that's probably a reach though since Bronson got XL with his EP.
3. They are mad cause Cole said something like "How many albums has a nikka got to sell to get that cover of XXL or Fader, fukk your magazine, haters" on Born Sinner.

I think it could have gotten an XL, but I also don't think an L is crazy. I'm a big Cole fan, but something is missing from this album. It's got a few nice songs, but the replay value is low. I would possibly put Sideline Story over it because the strong tracks on there are better than the strong tracks on Born Sinner.

You sure about this? When it comes to the actual rating I'd think it's ultimately approved by a single entity.

I thought the source used to review albums as a committee even though a single person writes the article.
