He can have a recurrence, he already did considering he was in the hospital last season with clots on his lungs and is out yet again with more clots, that is why none of the team doctors will clear him. He found a doctor that would give him clearance (probably paid him) but the Heat don't want to risk him dying on the court, even if he were to sign a medical waiver.

Death is a very real possibility.

I was talking about the dangers of this earlier. Do you know how fukkED the league would be PR wise if a man died on the court? You could spin it to throw as much blame on the player as possible (which they would), but at the end of the day, he'd be enabled to some degree by the NBPA and the Miami Heat.
