Not nearly the same thing. First of all, LaMelo is not the same level of prospect. Ricky came up in those academies and was a higher tiered prospect. Brandon Jennings went to Italy straight outta high school and the Coli's former chosen one barely played. A European coach will play Khalid El-Amin at 40 before they give LaMelo the keys to a team just so he can get his NBA Draft portfolio up


LiAngelo might as well resign himself to playing in Brazil in front of nobody and blowing backs out to baile funk

I don't like any of their games except Lonzo, and we see how that's turning out right now. Someone will sign them off name alone, but I wonder how they will react once adversity comes along and Lavar can't be a helicopter dad and turn things in their favor on the court. The young one is a project that needs a ton of work, but has the opportunity to be good. The other one I think will be able to find a team but he won't get much burn.

Who cares what "China" will do, don't the Chinese people likely hate Liangelo right now?

I don't know a ton about China, but aren't those guys all about honor, loyalty, respect? Some college kid of average talent comes into THEIR country and steals shyt from them, why the hell they ever gonna give him another chance? Which team gonna sign a guy who is auto-boos every game, especially when there gotta be dozens of other foreigners of equal talent who want that money?

Some of these people talking like they know nothing about European ball. This ain't Calipari at Kentucky, most of those coaches more like Larry Brown on steroids the way they value vets and discipline and just straight freeze young guys out.

Even ultra-talented, disciplined European players often only getting 10-15 minutes/game at 20-21.

I used to see highlights NBA lottery prospects, then look up their European stats and find out they averaging 6 and 4 in 9 minutes/game.
