a standard of 1080p for all games, were coming into a 4k era and not at least at 1080p for every game. i know that a lot of ps4 games run 1080p but not all

each console should of had at least 2TB hard drives. on launch day my hard drive will be full for both consoles.

how is 500GB even a good idea?

How are they going to INCLUDE 1080P for all games? There is no way they were going to force a standard on developers like that

This clearly wasn't a well thought out thread.

I do agree with you about the hard drive space though, that is going to be a problem for some in a few years.

you maybe right about resolution but hard drive no excuse, hard drives are cheap as shyt, so the cost price gotta be waaaay cheaper.

well both consoles fukked up with the hard drive size last time. 20/60GB wasn't shyt back in 2006. and xbox 360 didn't have a mandatory or upgradeable hard drive. at least with the ps3, you could easily upgrade.

then the consoles would have ended up being 600-800 dollars to be able to have more ram and stronger graphics cards

i can see steam box having good options at those prices though

it would be cool if one of the main consoles could be upgradeable or give the user options but then you have the issue of games not performing the same on all consoles and needing to download drivers for different graphics cards you choose to buy

I just don't think the console consumer is that sophisticated to be able to deal with it but its possible as long as Sony and Microsoft make it a requirement that the base card would always be the minimum requirements for 5-7 years until its time to upgrade to a new card

the hard drive space just comes down to convenience. I'm sure most people don't actively play more than 5 games at a time

sometimes i have people over and we'll polay up to 8 games in one night, some games play for 30mins then another a few hours. having to install the game is ridiculous if the hard drive is small

PS4 and Xbox One should have gone 3.5 inches for hard drives.

I think 600 would have been a good price to be more future proof and give everyone way more of the wow effect ...cell phones cost 600 which are replaced with better performing models yearly why can't a console that lasts you nearly a decade cost as much at first?

in fact they could even have a 700 dollar version and xbox could make it a full fledged windows machine and parents could justify it as a pc purchase that little johnny could do his book reports with

most people aren't willing to pay what it cost to have a game console with the specs to guarantee 1080p on all games at a decent frame rate.
