I just don't understand how people couldn't see the type of threat Trump was. It was so strange to me.

Because the Dems ran on fringe issues and magnified them and died on that sword

All the Democrats ahd to do was run on housing and the economy and jobs and they would have won.

Let's be honest, it was a severe fumble.

Where are all the Tariq Nasheed stans?

Was this the tangibles he sold himself out to the right wing for? :mjlol:

On a serious note, I hope all Black folks in the US prepare themselves for Jim Crow 2.0 and Red lining 2.0. Those two things came to my mind while reading this post.

Y'all might want to start getting a second passport. Just saying.

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE?"

Mfers fell for this Bozo the Clown shyt.

They're still not gonna know. There's an event horizon for knowledge, and stupid ass mothafukkas will never know. This unfortunately doesn't just apply black folks, but an unfortunate number of people are anti intellectual.

EDIT: Because it's apropos

Most they can do is take it to court. If they following the rule of law right?
Can a mostly Republican Congress repeal the law and replace it with this?
That is not all they can do. They can also stop the Republicans from passing the Law, because the Republicans do not have the numbers to overcome a filibuster. It again comes down to the refrain I have made plenty of times. If the Democrats do their job, nothing he does will be permanent. Nothing he does can be made into Law.

Again. A mostly Republican Congress just has to replace the original wording with this interpretation.
That would still require them to overcome a filibuster to do. They can't just line-item change an Act. It requires them to actually get it to pass, and they do not have the numbers to do that. This is where questioning what the Democrats will do to stop him comes in, because they can't accomplish any of this without the help of the Democrats.

Questioning what the Democrats will do to counter his actions is a valid question, unless you believe one should never question what they are doing.

Democrats dont hold the Senate. Democrats dont hold the house. Democrats dont hold the Supreme Court. Democrats dont hold a majority of governorships.

Its amazing how the citizens in this country can hand every lever of power to one side, and then ask the other what they are going to do to change things.

Have you checked the numbers? Do you even know what is required to get a Law through that is a non-budgetary one? They need 60 votes in the Senate to do that. They do not have 60 votes. So, if the Democrats do their job, the Law will not pass. It is as simple as that. The only way he can get non-budgetary laws to pass is by convincing Democrats to vote for what he wants.

Which again means, if they do their job as opposition to his actions, then he will not be able to get any non-budgetary law passed. So really, instead of wringing hands and moaning, you all should be contacting Democratic Senators and convincing them to filibuster all his attempts.

Edit: Let me help you all out, because I am pretty sure very few of you will even research to see what I am talking about.

119th Congress (2025–2027)
Majority Party: Republicans (53 seats)
Minority Party: Democrats (45 seats)
Other Parties: 2 Independents
Total Seats: 100

Note: This total includes Senator-elect James Justice of West Virginia, who chose to delay his swearing-in to January 14, 2025, to complete his term as governor. With the resignation of JD Vance effective January 10, 2025, Ohio's Class 3 seat remains temporarily vacant.

How is Trump the worst presidential candidate since WW2 when he’s only second to Hitler with a cult like following?
Normalized 2024 Trump would be any Republican in a primary including Reagan, Bush and Nixon

I'd rate Trump below all 3. Combination of incompetence, contempt for government and the law, and cruelty

I mean we saw what the Republicans did from 2008 to 2010.

Maybe the DeMIDcrats could try that?

Nah. That's asking too much.

One of the issues is people criticizing the party when they have no power but also putting all belief when they had it.

People gave them benefit of the doubt & it backfires every time.

The lesson? Hold feet to fire regardless of “power”. Unfortunately we’re all at an age to know this won’t happen. Dems will get back in, Republicans still won’t give af about us. Rinse, wash & repeat
