Get your lather bowl and fill it with boiling hot water. Drop your badger brush in as well.
Heat your face/beard with a hot towel.
Apply Art of Shaving (or any) Pre Shave Oil.
Pour the hot water out of your shaving mug, leaving just a little at the bottom; squeeze the excess water from your shave brush.
Work your badger brush across your shaving cream ( I use Jack Black Triple Cushion) and mix it with the hot water in your shaving mug like it's cotton candy. It should take on a texture like frosting.
Apply the lather to your face with circular motions. This helps to lift the beard hairs so the blade gets a cleaner cut.
I do three passes when I shave. One with the grain, Two ACROSS the grain, but never against the grain.
Between each pass I rinse my face clean, apply new shave oil, and reset my shaving bowl. It adds about an extra 10 minutes total. But your skin will thank you for the extra effort.
I finish up with Proraso After Shave for Sensitive Skin.
