Again, the iPhone vs Android thing is funny to me. You’re putting a bunch of phones that run on Android vs the iPhone.. nobody ever realized how crazy that is. This debate is like

mall these people with low level droids going at the iPhone

but apple doesn't dominate. Android has +70% market share. :skip:
"Android" has 70% market share.. sure.. but what exactly does that mean?

Apple Captures 75% of Global Handset Market Operating Profit in Q2 2021

Two companies selling a product to a userbase of 100 people.

Company1's product x costs $1
Company2's product y costs $10

Company 1 sells 70 units of product x for a gross of $70
Company 2 sells 30 units of product y for a gross of $300

Company2 continues to do this for over a decade consistently while Company1 is still taking the market share approach. Which company would you rather own or shares you'd rather purchase?

Now let's apply this to the Apple vs "Android" debate.

Company1 == "Android" == All other smartphone OEMs.
Company2 == Apple.

A single OEM is taking home 75+% of the profits of ALL smartphones shipped.

Of course there are other nuances to this.. example the App Store vs Playstore(this is probably a better comparison as opposed to the phones as revenue from either store goes directly to Google and Apple and not the OEMs), and which brings in more money or which pays more to developers... you'd think that the Playstore would win here because of the massive market share advantage, but it's the opposite.

Regarding sharing the revenue with the app developers, both Google Play Store and Apple App Store have the same rules. 70% of the revenue goes to the developer, while 30% goes to the store.

Even so, the Apple App Store led with an estimated revenue of $72.3 billion in 2020, responsible for 65% of total app revenue. In the same year, Google Play Store generated revenues of nearly $40 billion through Android apps. That is significantly less than Apple’s App Store profit. However, compared to the previous year it has still increased by 25%.

Moreover, Apple App Store outperforms Google Play in generated revenue even though Android accounts for 71.44% of the mobile & tablet operating system market share worldwide as of May 2021 (as compared to 27.77% owned by iOS). Furthermore, as of June 2021, Apple has a market cap of $2,104 trillion, making it the world’s most valuable company.

Most businesses advise mobile app developers to launch apps for iOS first if their goal is to make money since the Apple App Store is the front runner in this area.

What android is, is a trojan horse for Google to collect data on you and sell you ads. Despite the market dominance of Android, Google still has to pay Apple $15B+ a year to keep Google as the default search engine in Safari on iOS devices.

So what exactly is "Android" dominating?

:myman::banderas:

Idk how people can get phones every year or two when they are barely different.

Yep…… each time I get a phone… I try to get the maxed out top of the line one and ride that bytch till the wheels fall off.

I don’t plan to even look at another iPhone till like the 19 or 21:wow:

According to your breakdown, more people prefer android devices. Doesn't seem like it hurts manufacturers that they are cost efficient, otherwise they wouldn't continue to make them.

Also according to the data provided, you're proving that iphones are just overpriced, oversimplified garbage.

Unless you in the stock games, whoever makes more doesn't mean shyt. For the sake of an argument, what matters more is what company people are more likely to spend with

Correct me if I'm wrong or misread

Somewhere on an Xbox
I'm in line for an upgrade and wondering what was better between the Samsung Flip Phone and the iPhone 13. I don't really care about the Android v iOS shyt. But that flip phone :takedat:
I have the Z Flip 3. The real pro of the phone is the novelty of having a flip phone in 2021, as well as the portability.

Once you get past that, it lacks in several areas (e.g., the battery). I kind of wish I just copped the newest Note, but then again, the phone is so beautiful with the cream-colored shell:noah:
